Whether you're learning basic balance, improving your position, restarting an off-the-track Thoroughbred, or preparing for competition, we'll create exercises that build confidence while challenging you to improve.

Haul in Lessons (bring your horse) or lessons within 10 miles of Eremos Farm
1st lesson- $110- Individual assessment, introduction, and lesson plus written plan going forward.
1 Hour Lesson on personal horse- $65
Lessons plus Eremos Farm school horse & tack rental (Helmets are NOT provided- Rider will need to provide their own helmet)
1 hour private on Eremos Farm Horse- $95
Bring your own horse to hack around farm: $35

About Me: Hi I’m Conoly
I've spent years riding, training, and developing horses with a focus on dressage and eventing, including restarting off-the-track Thoroughbreds.
I competed at Kentucky in the long format FEI 2* level and have been retraining over 25 thoroughbreds or OTTBs since early 2000’s.
Currently I have 4 Holsteiner, Westphalian, and Zangersheide home-bred babies that I am bringing along to compete at the upper levels again.
Today, my time is spent balancing farm life and growing food, raising a family, continuing my own education as a rider, and helping others develop the skills needed to become thoughtful, confident horsemen.
I believe good instruction is less about impressing students and more about helping them understand their horses and enjoy the process of learning together.
When you understand each other and the job at hand, that’s when true growth happens.
Our Lesson Philosophy
Good horsemanship isn't built on shortcuts.
Every horse and every rider learns at a different pace. Our job is to recognize where each partnership is today and build the skills needed to move forward with confidence. Rather than masking problems, we believe in addressing them through thoughtful instruction, consistency, and correct fundamentals.
Building Confidence, Not Covering Problems
We do not use sedation to make horses easier to ride during lessons or training. While medications have an appropriate place in veterinary care, we believe riders learn best when they experience their horse honestly and develop the skills to work through challenges safely and correctly.
Both horse and rider deserve the opportunity to learn together rather than relying on temporary solutions.
Fundamentals Before Height
Many riders are eager to jump bigger fences, but our priority is building a strong foundation first.
Before moving up in height, riders should demonstrate consistent balance, control, and effective communication with their horse. That includes maintaining rhythm, riding accurate circles in both directions, and confidently controlling pace and line.
If those fundamentals aren't yet established, we'll continue developing them before increasing the difficulty. Strong basics create safer, more successful riders over the long term.
Position Comes First
A rider's position is the foundation for everything else.
We spend significant time developing an independent seat, secure lower leg, and overall balance. This often includes exercises without stirrups, balance work, transitions, and other exercises designed to strengthen the rider rather than relying on the reins for stability.
A balanced rider gives clearer aids, stays safer in unexpected situations, and helps the horse move more confidently.
Soft Hands Begin with Good Balance
One of the most common challenges we see is riders unintentionally balancing on the reins.
When a rider depends on their hands for balance, the horse often receives mixed or uncomfortable signals. Our goal is to develop riders who can balance through their seat and leg first, allowing their hands to become quiet, independent, and effective.
For some students, this means spending time on the lunge line so they can focus entirely on their own body position without worrying about steering. There is no shame in taking the time to build these skills—it's one of the fastest ways to become a kinder, more effective rider.
Progress Over Pride
There is no timeline in our program.
Every rider develops at a different pace, and every horse has something to teach us. We'd rather spend extra time mastering the basics than rush ahead before horse or rider is truly ready.
Our goal isn't simply to help riders jump higher or move through levels faster. It's to develop horsemen who ride with confidence, communicate clearly, and build lasting partnerships with their horses.
